Volunteer
The best way to get involved at Grand River Gardens is to volunteer. If you are new to farming and want to learn more or need a day away from the desk job, we would be happy to have your help. Tasks would likely include, but are not limited to, weeding, transplanting, mulching, harvesting and/or watering. Whether it be just for a couple of hours or a day or ongoing we invite you to contact us in advance if you are interested. |
Work Share
Did anyone ever tell you that farming is labour intensive?! Well, it is. But, as the saying goes, "many hands make light work!" This year we are offering four work share opportunities for those who would like to contribute and receive a share of the harvest. Most of the work involves hands-on tending to the crops, whether it be weeding, transplanting or harvesting. However, if you have other skills to share (contributing to newsletter, photography, social media, etc.) please give us a shout! If you like to garden or are keen to learn more we will offer you the share of your choice for a reduced price in exchange for a minimum number of hours work. As we are passionate about young people learning where their food comes from and how to grow, you are welcome to bring your family along to share in the fun! If this appeals to you and you want to find out more please contact us today. |
